Sunglow (Capitol Reef)

This weekend we went camping with Robert's family at a campground called Sunglow. It's about 20 miles out of Capitol Reef. We like it better than Capitol Reef because it's so deserted. We have the entire campground to ourselves usually. Sometimes Robert and I get a hotel room, but this year, Nathan was old enough to be in a tent at night and not die from the cold. And it was cold.

Jacob caught this little baby lizard. He loved it.

My brother in law Randy made swords for EVERY kid. Even Nathan. (I think his is the cutest. It's like a little knife.) He carved their initials in the hilt of the swords and a different design for each one. He carved a butterfly for Brooklyn. Jacob unfortunately lost his. He was the only kid to do so. He let another cousin play with it and they left it on a "hidden mountain." Nice uncle Randy gave Jacob a rustic one that he had carved at the previous family reunion. Jacob was all smiles.
Randy is amazing!

Nathan practicing to be a fire walker. And eating.

Around the campfire. Brooklyn had a nightly ritual of falling asleep on someones lap. The first night was with cousin Tawny, the second night was with Uncle Gord. Arianne kept Jacob and Luke entertained for a long time with stories.

Here is inside our nice cozy, COLD, tent. Robert had to put a shirt on his head to stay warm. Poor Robert with NO hair. The second night was a little warmer than the first. Luckily. I had to take a picture of my self. Sad huh.

On Saturday, our last day, we packed up and drove into Capitol Reef and went on the water hike. It's a yearly tradition. It's actually more a walk than a hike. You just walk along the river until you get to the waterfall.

Nathan and the little kids liked playing in the water. When you do this, you get really muddy and wet.

Nathan wanted his clothes off. ALL of them. Don't look at me. Robert did it. He did remember to put sunscreen on all of the places that have never seen the sun.

Jacob and Brooklyn standing at the top of the waterfall.

The kids climbed up the waterfall with their older cousins and uncles and they helped stop up the water and then let it all come rushing out.

On the way home, everyone was exhausted. Lucky Brooklyn had comfy pillows to sleep on. Jacob didn't. Nathan slept also, but I didn't get

a picture of it. We had such and good time and can't wait for next year.

Stacy looks like a fabulous time for all on the camping trip. We drove by the entrance to the SunGlow Campground several times while in Loa and Capitol Reef. We may have to try our hands at camping there! And so many family members around....how fun.
