The day before Thanksgiving, we had Pie Night with the Haight family. I made 10 pies!! 4 pumpkins, 2 banana cream, 2 cheese cake pies, 1 chocolate, and 1 peanut butter pie. Half were for pie night, and half were for Thanksgiving day.
For Pie Night, most of the Haight family were there. Just some of the older nieces and nephews were unable to attend. We had SO many pies, that only 1 1/2 of my pies were eaten. I really wish I had taken a picture of my counter top COVERED in pie. It was so fun and we played a great game called "what if".
For Thanksgiving, it was just my parents and us. It was SO good though. The food was excellent and we ate a lot of food, and took a lot of food home! After dinner, my mom, Robert, and I took Jacob and Brooklyn to the movie Bolt. For some reason, my dad didn't want to go, so we laid Nathan down for a nap, and my dad stayed with him. Bolt was a cute movie.
Then we came home and ate pie! I ate a lot of pie! I also left a lot of pie at my parents house! :)
On our way home, less than 1 minute from our house, we were almost hit by someone who was probably a drunk driver. I don't know how Robert steered out of the way at the last second, but he did. I had closed my eyes and braced myself for the impact. We would have hit him almost head on, and I'm sure our airbags would have deployed. Unfortunately we were unable to get a license plate (and I couldn't find my cell phone because the contents of our car were everywhere from slamming on the brakes) and so I couldn't tell on that stupid driver. Thankfully, we avoided an accident and we were all safe! We were definitely protected.
I usually go with my sister Becca every day after Thanksgiving for some sale shopping. But she is in Kentucky, and I didn't see anything that I needed for Christmas (lots of stuff I wanted though). So for the first time in a long time, I slept in. But I did wake up and spend hours on the computer this morning getting some great online deals. And I did end up buying some great things that I didn't need but they were too good of a deal to pass up.
We are having a great holiday weekend and we are happy to be a family.

I'm SO glad you are safe! Scary! Any Thanksgiving that consists of gorging oneself on pie is a good Thanksgiving. Sounds like you had a GREAT Thanksgiving--eating pie for two! :)
I usually shop black Friday too, but this year I was too tired so I slept in too! Good for you!
