The Art of the Brick

Last week my sister and I took the kiddo's to an art gallery in Park City to see a cool exhibit. The medium that this artist used to create his works of art is something that you have all probably played with at some point in your life. It is...............

LEGOS

Yes that entire piece (excluding the shadows) is made of Legos. It was very impressive. I really wanted to see if that drawer could shut.

The shadow of this next piece IS made of legos.

It is called Tree. And Shadow of a Tree. Clever huh!

I don't remember what this one is called. It was cool though.

I think if you open the box, there is a board game made out of legos in there.

I don't remember what this one was called either.

Man's struggle for existence. (That's not the name of the piece. Just what I think it should be called.)

Could you do this?

The next one's are just random coolness.

That is a world in case you can't tell.

Brooklyn would stand in front of every piece and say, "Mom take a picture of me here!" Then Nathan started to stand in front of all the pieces and say, "Mom take a picture of me!"
So then Chloe started to stand in front of all the pieces and say "Mom, take my picture too!" Serioulsy. :)

Man trying to build his own arm with Lego pieces. Eli had to think about this one.

This one is Jacob's favorite. Mine too actually.
Sooo cool! Maybe this one is my favorite.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of everyone. There was one that was WAY cool. You can see it here. And here's another. And another. And another. You can see his website by looking here.

This is the author Nathan Sawaya. He is a lawyer turned artist. This self portrait piece is made from his childhood lego pieces.
The kids loved seeing all of these amazing works of art. So did Becca and I.
And I bet you just played with your lego's...........duh!

Lego's are the best invention. I think I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the years on Legos for all the boys in my life.

I've always been "lego challenged" so this exhibit is incredible to me. What fun!

Sorry! This exhibit ended on November 15th. Becca and I went just a few days before it ended. I should have posted that in my blog.
