Nathan is our adorable two and a half year old. He has such a cute personality. It is SO much fun watching him learn a ton every day. Here are some things he has learned lately.
He has learned to blame others for his mistakes.
Me-"Nathan! Did you make this mess with soap in the bathroom?"
Nathan-"No Mom. It's Brooklyn. Brooklyn did it. Brooklyn did it."
Me-"Nathan! I know you did it. Don't play with the soap!"
Nathan-"Okay Mom."
I don't even get how he learned to do this. The same thing happened today with the books being pulled off the bookshelf. The kids came and told on him that he was doing it. So later when I saw the mess, I said, "Nathan, you need to leave the books on the shelf." He said, "Brooklyn did it mom. Brooklyn did it." I said, "Nathan I know it was you.. don't do it again." He got a little look on his face and said in a totally "busted" voice, "Okay mom."
He has learned to serve others.
He is so sweet and loves to bring me drinks of water when I am nursing the baby. He started doing this all on his own. It is SO sweet. And it always has a straw in it too! To show him my gratitude, I always take a big drink and say "MMMMM this is SO good!" He ALWAYS says "NO MOM! It's water. It's not good!" I'll say, "It tastes really good though!" He still says, "No mom, It's not good!" He's probably thinking.. it's not juice. It's not milk. It has no taste. It's not good!
It makes me laugh every time.
But just don't ask him to SHARE any food with you. He absolutley won't!
He is going to learn to be potty trained.
I am getting ready to potty train him, and so every opportunity I get, I talk to him about potty training. Well, what I just realized when I was on the phone with my mom, is that when I say "You're going to be potty trained soon"... he thinks "You're going to get a TRAIN soon." Luckily... I have some take along Thomas the Trains on the way. They will be the potty trains. It reminded me of taking Jacob to see the movie Madagascar in the theater when he was little and I leaned over half way through and said, "Do you like this movie?" And he said, "Yeah.. but where's the car?" Kids are SO literal!
He has learned that his baby sister is a bully!
One of the funniest things that he does cracks Robert and I up SO much. He LOVES to give Chloe hugs, or he'll just come up and lay his head on her while we're holding her. But most of the time her little fists are just moving like crazy. If she barely even touches him with her hand while he's doing this, he'll say with a very (fake) hurt look, "Chloe pushed me! Chloe pushed me!" Sometimes he says, "Chloe HIT me!"
I'll say, "she didn't push you." But he doesn't give up until you acknowledge it. What a bully Chloe is.
He is our FUNNY SWEET little boy! We LOVE him so much!

I can't believe how much more he can talk every time I see him. And he's very persistant. He doesn't take no for an answer (like going down the stairs by himself). He's so cute!
Aaahhh! So sweet.
So funny! Infants are bullies. You're going to have to keep an eye on Cloe. Good luck potty training!
He's at a fun age! cute
