Brooklyn

Brooklyn has been saying some funny things lately. Most I don't remember. But here are a few.

-When the baby was first born, the kids kept asking me what color Chloe's eyes are going to be. Rob and I told them we don't know yet... we'll have to wait and see, but we think they will be brown. Well, when the baby was just over a week old, and still a little orange from being jaundiced, Brooklyn said, "Chloe's a little brownish. We don't know yet if she is going to be a brown baby or a white baby. But it's okay whatever she is." (I thought, "Umm...I don't think your dad will think it's okay.")
A few days later, to my mom and Rob she said basically the same thing, but said, "we think she's going to be a white baby though." It was pretty funny.

-She had a nightmare the night before last night and then last night started BAWLING when it was time to go to bed and got mad at Jacob for "making" her watch a scary movie (Gremlins) at Grandma Sorensen's house almost two weeks ago. We told her to say a prayer before she goes to bed. She woke up this morning and told Robert, "God told me there was nothing to be afraid of."

-She told me a few days ago that she's not big enough yet to feed the baby. What she meant was that a certain area of her body (think breastfeeding) wasn't big enough to feed the baby. I told her she'd probably just have to feed her own kids when she has them.

-She also makes sure that everyone knows the rules when it comes to holding the baby. Sometimes I am a little lax about making people wash their hands. Good thing Brooklyn's not shy and will tell them to wash their hands. She also tells them not to kiss our baby on the face because they will get germs on her.

(There was more..if only I had written them down. Mom.. if you remember any that I told you in the last few weeks...tell me.)

She's pretty cute. We love her.

How funny! She's so cute! Good for you for remembering these! I guess it's a good thing Chloe is going to be white ;) and that Brooklyn isn't going to breast feed her.

I've decided that Brooklyn likes to figure things out for herself and once she's figured it out (whether she is right or wrong) that's the way it is. She does not ask for help in figuring things out. So I can't wait to find out if Chloe is a brown baby or a white baby.

Is there something you're not telling us, Stacy?

I love Brooklyn! I miss her! Maybe you should send your kids out for an extended summer vacation. What do you think?
