So yesterday while I was bringing in my groceries, Brooklyn came running out into the garage saying that Nathan bumped his tooth and that it was bleeding. "OH GREAT!" I thought. That's all I need right now. He wasn't crying so I thought it was probably just a little cut or something on his lip. When I saw him, I almost screamed. Blood (and probably slobber) was coming from his mouth. I tried to clean up the bloody mess the best I could to see where it was bleeding from. He had torn the piece of tissue that connects his top lip to his gums. (It goes in between his teeth.) Mouths tend to bleed a lot anyway.. so I figured it would stop bleeding soon. Both Jacob and Brooklyn at some point fell and tore both of theirs when they were babies. He still wasn't crying (except for when I tried to look at it.) I held him for awhile and then put him down for a nap. He didn't go to sleep and so after awhile I went and got him. His mouth was still bleeding and his shirt and bed were covered in blood slobber. What a bad mom. It had happened two hours earlier and I just figured it would have stopped bleeding by now. (It actually did, but anytime he rubbed his lip or face, it would bleed again.)
I packed the kids in the car and headed for the nearest instacare. They were just about to close and looked at it and said we'd have to go to the ER.
I took him to the ER and they got us right in. The Doctor came in with these two little sticks. He said he was going to cauterize the wound with a chemical (Silver Nitrate) that burns the open wound. It stung Nathan and he didn't like it. The Doctor sent me home with the other stick of silver nitrate in case he bumped it or started bleeding again. Luckily I haven't had to use it. Then the billing lady came to collect my insurance information. $100. That sucks.

that's lame that Instacare made you go to the ER. All they had to do was give you one of those sticks
First pulling teeth, now this?! I'm worried about my niece and nephews!
