Scaring 2 Little Kids on Lagoon's Dracula's Castle Ride.....

Priceless

We bought season tickets to Lagoon this year.  I thought it would be good motivation to get me out of the house this summer and good motivation for the kids to do their work.  I think that we will all have a really good time!!

We went on Saturday for our first day.  The kids woke up early and cleaned like little maids.  Without complaining!

We got to Lagoon about an hour after it had opened.  It didn't seem too crowded.   We hardly had to wait in line for any rides.

We discovered that Jacob is tall enough to ride the rides by himself.  And he's brave enough to do it too!  I don't know if I would have been at his age.

Because we had the baby, we had to divide and conquer.  One of us was with Nathan in kiddie land, while the other was with Jacob.  Brooklyn bounced around between the two, depending on whether on not she wanted to ride that ride.

We only stayed 4 hours because, hey, we have season tickets, we can come back whenever we want!  The last ride of the day was Dracula's castle.
Robert was going to take Nathan on it, but as soon as Nathan saw the talking owl, he wanted out of that line.  Both Jacob and Brooklyn are tall enough to ride it themselves, and we had been sending them on rides themselves, so we didn't think twice about doing it this time.

When I thought that it was about time for them to be coming out of the ride, I had my camera ready to take video of their scared little faces.  An empty cart came pulling up.  I thought,
"That's weird, why did they send an empty cart when there were people in line."
The car stopped in front of the attendant, and she opened the hatch.  Huddled at the bottom of the car, were my two scared little kids.  I was SO shocked to see them that I didn't take  the picture.  It surprised me so much that I started laughing.  It took me a long time to stop.  They were really scared to death.  And yet I laughed!  What a mean mom.  A few minutes later though... they were nervously laughing too.

They told me they were NEVER going on that ride again.  We'll see.

I'm laughing like crazy! Thanks for sharing such a fun story. That ride scared me too -- at least the first scene did, after that my eyes were shut tight!

Mom keeps telling everyone that story and Eli keeps talking about the lady that screams. If only we had come your children wouldn't be traumatized because Eli would have warned them...I guess it's good we didn't come so you and mom can laugh and laugh at this story.

PS--Brooklyn's hair is adorable! The boys too, but I know theirs did not cause you as much trauma. Her hair really is SO cute!
